Video of CBS News' Norah O'Donnell: ‘Where are the Tax Revenues?’, ‘**WE** Got Nothing’

A slip of th etongue thereby letting the cat out of the bag intentionally? You betcha! Via memeoranudum: CBS News' Norah O'Donnell: ‘Where are the Tax Revenues?’, ‘We Got Nothing’
O'Donnell used to be with MSNBC. of course CBS gave her the golden gig. How could they not with episodes like this at MSNBC?: Video of MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell: Those who oppose Ground Zero mosque are like the 911 terrorists or something. Norah O'Donnell, the same one that ambushed that teenage girl at a Sarah Palin book event, and later came up with possibly the lamest attempt at linking conservatives to racism yet, compares those opposed to building an Islamic mosque right next to one of Islam's greatest hits in recent history to the terrorists responsible for the 911 attack in the first place:
More from The Other McCain and Datechguy. CBS must be so proud. More on O'Donnell's moonbattery:

Video: CNN Reports on GOP Lawmakers’ Personal Debt, Ignore Democrat Tax Cheats

To liberals, maxing out the credit card and not being able to unilaterally increase the debt limit is personal. So munch so that the politics of personal destruction get put on steroids:
No mention that we have a tax cheat running the Treasury (Turbotax Tim). Or Charles Rangel and his tax problems. Or, ...oh never mind...

Video: White House accuses Fox News reporter Ed Henry of "creating a thing" by asking for Obama's debt proposal (that doesn't exist)

More Fox Derangement Syndrome:
Fox News White House correspondent Ed Henry asks White House Press secretary Jay Carney why not submit the Obama plan to CBO for scoring like Boehner and Reid. Carney doesn't answer the question, then accuses Henry of "creating a thing" for Fox News.
That follows this from the prior day: White House Accuses Fox News Reporter of Pushing Republican Talking Points
Ed Henry's first exchange as Fox News WH correspondent was certainly a memorable one, ending with White House Press Secretary Jay Carney derisively advising him "You should go on the air and tell your viewers there's nothing to worry about (the US defaulting), that's one approach."
Leonard Pitts Jr. of course had to feed his FDS as well: A futile search for news in Fox News reporting. His proof? This, after the Murdoch newspaper scandal in the UK:
The Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism just surveyed reportage of the story in two time frames: July 6-8 and 11-15. In that period, according to Pew, CNN devoted almost 170 minutes to the story, MSNBC about 145. Fox? About 30. That bears repeating: One of the biggest stories of the summer gets, over the course of six days, a half-hour of attention from Fox "News."
So Fox has to report it as much as Democratic Party propaganda channels CNN and MSNBC? Or they're biased? And the newspaper scandal in the UK is "one of the biggest stories of the summer"? Is he joking? Most on this side of the pond could care less. Except of course for those suffering happily from FDS. No wonder this is the current state: The Hill Poll: Most voters see media as biased and unethical
A full 68 percent of voters consider the news media biased, the poll found. Most, 46 percent, believe the media generally favor Democrats, while 22 percent said they believe Republicans are favored, with 28 percent saying the media is reasonably balanced.

The share of voters who believe the media are too friendly with politicians is almost twice as large as those who find their coverage of politicians appropriate. Forty-four percent of voters assert the former; only 24 percent believe the latter.
So it's not Fox, it's everybody else. More from Big Journalism, Weasel ZippersDon Surber, Legal Insurrection, NewsBusters and JammieWearingFool. In particular, William Jacobson ends with this:
How about this.  Conservatives take control of  CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, WaPo, NYT, AP, Reuters, and so on, and liberals get the Murdoch empire?  I’d take that trade in a heartbeat.

Detroit Free Press on debt debate: GOP are terrorists, they "will detonate a bomb in the middle of a barely recovering economy"

lRemember that 'new civility' back in January? That call for a 'new tone' in political debate in the aftermath of the Gabriel Giffords shooting in Arizona? Yeah - it was all BS designed to shut up conservatives. Liberals have been in full-tilt demagogue mode every since. For instance, from Stephen Henderson, editorial page editor over at The Free Press on debt ceiling talks: In debt ceiling talks, Obama learns price of appeasing tea party extremists. The 'new civility' (cont'd):
Negotiate with terrorists, and they will come back again, asking for more.
Henderson repeats the above at the end of the piece too. Just to make sure you get that.
Increasingly, this is what the debt ceiling debate looks like in Washington, as GOP radicals extract pound after pound of ideological flesh from President Barack Obama, only to insist that it’s just not enough.

They will have their way — absolutely, with no exceptions — or they will detonate a bomb in the middle of a barely recovering economy, sending shockwaves that could reverberate for decades. Literal violence, it isn’t. But the GOP is certainly indulging an astounding act of economic hostage-taking.
Great job on that new tone thing! Why doesn't Stephen let everyone know that when their credit card is maxed out, and their spouse wants more credit and they refuse that they are terrorists and want to detonate a bomb on the family finances. That makes just as much sense as what is written above.

Fact is, there is already a compromise. Raising the debt ceiling in exchange for cuts IS THE COMPROMISE! After all, Obama will spend that increased credit immediately while we have to wait 10 years to see any cuts, and I'm in no way convinced those cuts are real.

Henderson's appeal is for more taxes on those evil rich people. Taxing the people that already pay the vast majority of the taxes anyway won't even put a dent in the deficit as the government is short by more than $100 billion... A MONTH! You can raise the rates on the richest 1% to 100%, steal all their wealth, and it still won't make a dent. That's how bad the problem is. So who's the ideologue here? The top 5% of taxpayers, by the way, pay more federal income taxes than the bottom 95%. Let that sink in for a moment. Meanwhile, the bottom 51% pay no federal income taxes at all and the bottom 40% get money back. So why should the top be punished even further? Curiously, the push for tax increases always comes like this from liberals:
...he has retreated on tax reform to the point where he is simply asking for some of the wealthiest Americans to give up deductions and loopholes that even many in the GOP say make little sense.
Um - Stephen: that's not asking. That's stealing (taxing for a legitimate function of government is fine, extracting money from people to pay for an illegitimate function of government such as cutting checks to other people is thievery). As in I will have more of your money or you will go to jail at the point of a gun!

And about those so-called tax cuts that Henderson claims are unsustainable:
...the deep tax cuts of the last decade are unsustainable
After the decrease in marginal tax rates in 2001 and 2003, the deficit decreased in 2005. And then further decreased in 2006. And again in 2007, which was the year of the last GOP budget. So we had a decreasing deficit for several straight years, after the tax cuts and after the wars. In 2007, the federal budget was $2.7 trillion. In 2011 it is $3.8 trillion. The vast majority of the deficit is composed of new Democratic Party spending, not lower tax rates, and not the wars.
If the federal government cannot get its fiscal house in order, then they deserve to be the cause for the US getting its credit rating downgraded. STOP SPENDING!

Obama seems to be in full tantrum mode.

Shocker: Sexist Media Scrutinize Bachmann’s Migraines, Ignore Obama’s Smoking

Not to mention his drug use in the past (as far as we know anyway). During the 2008 campaign, John McCain released his full medical records as demanded by the Obama camp. Obama released a 1-page letter from his doctor that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. No release of his medical records of course. Pretty much the same liberal bias here, except that it has a sexist rather than ageist flavor to it: Sexist Media Scrutinize Bachmann’s Migraines, Ignore Obama’s Smoking
“We have a President who is turning 50 and he still is smoking. And if you’re President of the United States and you can’t kick the habit, you probably have a serious habit. That’s a serious health issue. If we’re going to do this, let’s look at everybody.” - Republican strategist Cheri Jacobus

Video: Liberal Joan Walsh Compares Obama to Reagan

It's kind of funny, but liberals HATED Reagan. Despised him something fierce. But now that history has shown Reagan to be on the right side and liberals on the wrong one, the absurd comparison is all over the place. Like here:

And it's not just Obama supporters either. From a few months back: Good grief: Video: Obama calls himself 'The Gipper' during press conference. I remember Ronald Reagan. UPDATE: Classic Reagan:
UPDATE #2: NBC News and Chris Matthews Selectively Edit Reagan’s Position on Taxes
Chris Matthews and NBC News are so intent on promoting the Democratic Party's talking point that President Ronald Reagan favored tax increases that they plucked a few words from a press conference Reagan gave in 1987 to attempt to make the argument. Thanks to Media Research Center's Scott Whitlock, the truth about what Reagan really said at that press conference can be seen here.

Video of GOP Rep. Walsh Yelling At Chris Matthews: 'Obama Doesn't Send A Thrill Up My Leg'

Chris Matthews absolutely deserved this one (via memeorandum):
The relevant snippet from Mediaite:
Matthews demanded to know from Walsh where were the cuts in the proposal from House Republicans and why they were wasting time pursuing a balanced budget Amendment now, when the country could go into default in a few weeks if the debt ceiling was not raised. Walsh responded “where’s the President’s plan Chris Matthews” and stressed that it was Obama who wasn’t serious and was playing politics. Walsh also vowed that as a freshman Congressman, he promised to change how business is done in Washington and that’s exactly what the Republicans are now doing.
Darned straight! Obama doesn't have a plan, and the media is of course covering for him as usual. He is no leader and never was one. Speaking of: Ryan: "Leading On Reporters At Press Conferences Is Not Leadership"
"Here's the problem we have right now, Mr. Speaker. We have a leadership deficit. I keep hearing about the President's got a plan. The President's offering balance. The President hasn't offered a thing yet. Nothing on paper. Nothing in public. Leading on reporters at press conferences is not leadership. Giving speeches according to the CBO is not budgeting.

"The President did inherit a tough problem. No two ways about it. What did he do with this problem? He drove us deeper into debt. $1 trillion of borrowed money for a stimulus that was promised to keep unemployment below 8% and went up to 10% and now it's at 9.2%. A stalled economy. A budget the President gave us that doubles the debt in five years and triples it in 10 years. That's not leadership."

Video of CNN host Kyra Phillips: Michele Bachmann Is “Racist” Because She Opposes Government Fraud Or Something

I've asked this question many times, but why do Democrats even need to raise one red cent in campaign contributions when they have in-kind contributions from their media buddies like this:
Via Founding Bloggers via Gateway Pundit. The USDA Pigford settlement was reparations plain and simple. Pelosi - after getting her butt handed to her in November - passed a huge settlement with black farmers that sued for racial discrimination. The problem? The settlement is to 92,000 black farmers - 5 TIMES the number of actual black farmers that existed at the time of the settlement. It's reparations plain and simple. From Gateway Pundit back in August:

Pigford v. Glickman was a class action lawsuit against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), alleging racial discrimination in its allocation of farm loans and assistance between 1983 and 1997. The lawsuit ended with a settlement in which the U.S. government agreed to pay African American farmers $50,000 each if they had attempted to get USDA help but failed. To date, almost $1 billion has been paid or credited to the farmers under the settlement’s consent decree. Democrats want to add another $1.2 billion to the money pot and continue with the reparations.
A FoxNews video from the summer:
Several updates since then:
The latest update on the sham a couple of months ago: Bachmann: Obama May Have Used Pigford to Win Black Vote From Hillary
President Barack Obama may have used the Pigford farmers case to steal the African-American vote from Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential election, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said Saturday on WMAL in Washington DC.

Bachmann made the connection when she spoke with Andrew Breitbart Saturday about a major cover-up in the Pigford farmers case.
And that makes her a racist? Please...

Video: MSNBCs Contessa Brewer PWND! By Rep Mo Brooks (R-AL), asks him "Do you have a degree in economics?" WHY YES HE DOES!

This was awesome. From Real Clear Politics: MSNBC To GOP Congressman: "Do You Have A Degree In Economics?"
MSNBC's Contessa Brewer, you may remember just yesterday said the attack on Rupert Murdoch at a hearing encapsulated what the British were feeling.

Today, Contessa "educated" a conservative Representative that without the bailout, the country would be in "a depression." Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) said he disagreed which prompted the MSNBC host to ask him if he had a degree in economics.

"Yes ma'am, I do. Highest honors," Rep. Brooks responded.

According to his Congressional page: "Mo graduated from Duke University in three years with a double major in political science and economics, with highest honors in economics. In 1978, he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School."
The video via BrietbartTV:
Talk about totally turning the tables on the patronizing, condescending Brewer! Total EPIC FAIL!

Exit question: can you imagine any such question asked of the community organizer-in-chief?

UPDATE: Via Instapundit:
CONTESSA BREWER asks the wrong question.
Brooks actually has three degrees: political science, economics, and law. As a lawyer, Brooks would have been experienced enough not to make Brewer’s mistake in a cross-examination, which is to ask a question without first knowing the answer. Not only that, but Brewer was being flat-out rude as well as foolish; MSNBC invited Brooks to appear to get his perspective on the issues. If their hosts respond by belittling them (whether it backfires or not), what does that say about MSNBC, its management, and the kind of invitations they make?

Since Brewer made an issue out of having an economics degree before engaging in economics debates, she must have a doctorate in the subject herself, right? Not exactly. According to her Wikipedia entry, Brewer has a baccalaureate in broadcast journalism (magna cum laude). Apparently they didn’t teach interviewing skills at Syracuse, or logic either, as a requisite for the degree.
Exit question: If it weren’t for right-leaning bloggers looking for laugh lines, and Beltway journalists imbibing the talking points of the day, would MSNBC even have an audience? And yes, I know the answer to that one . . . .

Figures: Fox Paid $4.8 Billion in Taxes, MSNBC (owned by GE) $0

GE actually received money back from us taxpayers ($3.2 BILLION) to then fund MSNBC coverage that is favorable to Obama and Democrats. From Don Surber via Creative Minority Report: Fox Paid $4.8 Billion in Taxes, MSNBC $0
The parent company of Fox News — News Corp. — paid the U.S. government $4.8 billion in taxes over the last four tax years (2007-2010).

GE, which owned most of MSNBC until late last year, paid zero taxes in 2010.

(Reuters) — Readers, I apologize. The premise of my debut column for Reuters, on News Corp’s taxes, was wrong, 100 percent dead wrong.

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp did not get a $4.8 billion tax refund for the past four years, as I reported. Instead, it paid that much in cash for corporate income taxes for the years 2007 through 2010 while earning pre-tax profits of $10.4 billion.
And from the New York Times:
General Electric, the nation’s largest corporation, had a very good year in 2010.

The company reported worldwide profits of $14.2 billion, and said $5.1 billion of the total came from its operations in the United States.

Its American tax bill? None. In fact, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.
Is there a better example of crony capitalism and corporate welfare like this one? Do Surber comments:
No wonder MSNBC millionaires like Chris Matthews want more taxes.

Until recently, their employer did not pay them.

In fact, the Obama administration redistributed money from the parent of Fox News to the parent of MSNBC.
You taxpayer dollars, hard at work to fund the Democratic Party and their cronies. Liberals are quite generous with other peoples money, no?

Video of GOP Rep to Cokie Roberts: Why Does Compromise Always Mean Raising Taxes Now and Cutting Spending Later?

Tax increases are always immediately realized. Promises of future spending cuts never do. If the GOP caves, it will be the same old same old. What's that like? This: Tax Hikes Now for Promises to Cut Spending Later? It's Like Lucy, Charlie Brown, and the Football
"The spending cuts are in the out-years. The tax increases are going to come soon. This is the old cliché, this is Lucy and Charlie Brown and the football. And the American people say, 'We're not falling for that game anymore. We're not going to let you promise spending cuts later to raise taxes now.' If these tax things are so bad that Chris [Van Hollen] talks about, well the Democrats just controlled all of government eight months ago. Why in the world didn't they get rid of them?"
Plus: GOP Rep to Cokie Roberts: Why Does Compromise Always Mean Raising Taxes Now and Cutting Spending Later?

Interesting how the establishment MSM has its talking points down to the letter from the White House, no?

UPDATE: The real reason behind the drive for more taxes via discriminations: A Great Geitner Gaffe
Michael Kinsley once famously described a gaffe as a politician inadvertently saying what he actually meant — usually something that he believes, says in private, but is careful not to say in public. On Wednesday Geitner wasn’t careful.

In an almost too-perfect expression of the Obama administration’s economic policy,
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told the House Small Business Committee on Wednesday that the Obama administration believes taxes on small business must increase so the administration does not have to “shrink the overall size of government programs.”

The administration’s plan to raise the tax rate on small businesses is part of its plan to raise taxes on all Americans who make more than $250,000 per year—including businesses that file taxes the same way individuals and families do….

Geithner, continuing, argued that if the administration did not extract a trillion dollars in new revenue from its plan to increase taxes on people earning more than $250,000, including small businesses, the government would in effect “finance” what he called a “tax benefit” for those people.
In other words, all money is the government's, and anything you get to keep is a cost to it.
“We’re not doing it because we want to do it, we’re doing it because if we don’t do it, then, again, I have to go out and borrow a trillion dollars over the next 10 years to finance those tax benefits….

Not only that, he argued, but cutting spending by as much as the “modest change in revenue” (i.e. $1 trillion) the administration expects from raising taxes on small business would likely have more of a “negative economic impact” than the tax increases themselves would.

“And if we were to cut spending by that magnitude to do it, you’d be putting a huge additional burden on the economy, probably greater negative economic impact than that modest change in revenue,” said Geithner.
No, this is not a parody from The Onion or wishful thinking from Salon or the Huffington Post. It’s your government saying what it really thinks.
UPDATE #2: Obama’s Entitlement Cuts
Like his job qualifications and the credibility of the liberal media that installed him in power and props up his public image, the cuts to bloated entitlement programs that Comrade Obama would be willing to make are nonexistent — as Charles Krauthammer confirms:
UPDATE #3: Via memeorandum: Obama generated twice as many campaign contributors as new jobs through second quarter of 2011. Can you imagine the headlines if this were Bush? And from Instapundit:

Stupid! Dimwitted Bimbo Sarah Palin gets her own birthday wrong by 2 weeks!

From ABC News: Palin's Senior Moment: 'I'll be turning 50 in a week.'
Actually…she’ll be turning 50 in three weeks. Her birthday is August 4, two days after the debt ceiling deadline. Senior moment?
Pretty dumb, huh? Now you know why Sarah Palin is unqualified for office - she's just plain dumb. Oh - did I say Sarah Palin? I meant Barack Obama! The real headline: Obama's Senior Moment: 'I'll be turning 50 in a week.' And the real story:
Actually…he’ll be turning 50 in three weeks. His birthday is August 4, two days after the debt ceiling deadline. Senior moment?
The video:
Might wanna check out that birth certificate! Now we know why Obama until recently hasn't held many pressers. It's gaffe after gaffe after gaffe. Complete with making hand gestures that would land Palin on the front pages as an idiot (Video: Obama talks to himself with his hand at press conference):
Or these:
If Sarah Palin had indeed made the exact same mistake, she would have been ridiculed as a dimwitted bimbo unfit for any office. Same with Michelle Bachmann. Speaking of: Ann Coulter: Media Assumes Palin and Bachmann are Idiots
Together Palin and Bachmann have a small fraction of the amount of gaffes that Obama himself has made, none of which were big news stories and many of which the media simply spiked altogether. As Michelle Obama said the other week: "Fortunately, We Have Help From The Media". Indeed.Related: Video of Democratic Pollster: Media Likes to Make Bachmann Out to Be an Idiot. And from a prior post: Sarah Palin makes small mistake about North Korea. Sheila Jackson Lee thinks there are 2 Vietnams. Guess which one makes the news? Palin called out Obama regrading that made-up controversy:

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…
Tip of the iceberg. Of course, the liberal media ignore the above, and episodes like this: Video: Smartest President in History Barack Obama Confuses Iraq and Afghanistan - Claims Combat Operation Over In Afghanistan. If only the MSM would have reported what Obama was really like during the campaign, he may not be President right now:
This is the same guy that thought there are 60 states in the union (visited 57 of them with 1 left to go minus Hawaii and Alaska):
Shouldn't have left this one out:  Pic of the day: Smartest President in history of history can't button his own jacket

How is it again that Palin and Bachmann labeled as dumb in light of the above? Ed Morrissey also points these other gaffes out:

Did any of the national media ask Barack Obama in the summer of 2008 if he was a “flake”?
Not then, nor now. Instead they are painting Bachmann to be an idiot that she is not but our community organizer-in-chief does indeed appear to be. As Michelle Obama said: "Fortunately, We Have Help From The Media"

Video: Laura Ingraham Exposes Obama’s ‘Shared Sacrifice’ Lie

The caption says much of how the media treat Obama:
"And don't you love how Matt Lauer repeats the President's position as if it is the moderate and reasonable solution? Let's not forget that over the past 2 1/2 years the President increased spending by 35%. Now he is calling for "shared sacrifice"?"
Lauer sure was pushy in the taxes pretty much all the way through this segment:

Video: Obama talks to himself with his hand at press conference

This went totally without notice yesterday, but imagine if Sarah Palin had been talking to the press and made a hand gesture where her hand was talking to her face:
If it were Palin, it would be front-page news of how incompetent she is. With Obama, it didn't even make the news. Thanks goodness for blogs that point these things out.
