Michele Bachmann: Debt Limit Deal Means 'We Embrace Being Greece'

Piling on more debt to supposedly solve the debt crisis is like giving an alcoholic a case of vodka to cure his or her addiction. I'm convinced that neither party has a clue what balancing a checkbook means of the federal level. Only a minority of one party - the tea party - knows what needs doing but are deluged with Washingtonians.
Republican 2012 presidential hopeful Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said the debt limit agreement reached by the White House and congressional leaders is "like saying we embrace being Greece."

Michele Bachmann: We’d Be Better Off If President’s Cabinet Had at Least Run a Lemonade Stand

Typical of the ruling class, they dictate in areas where they have no experience whatsoever, like the mythical private sector that they only read about in some liberal textbook. Bachmann calls out not only Obama but his whole cabinet as well:
A lemonade stand might be a tough start though because of the same liberal policies and red tape put out by busybody bureauweenies. For instance: Again? Police in GA shut down girls' lemonade stand
Police in Georgia have shut down a lemonade stand run by three girls trying to save up for a trip to a water park, saying they didn't have a business license or the required permits.

Midway Police Chief Kelly Morningstar says police also didn't know how the lemonade was made, who made it or what was in it.

...The girls needed a business license, peddler's permit and food permit to operate, even on residential property. The permits cost $50 a day or $180 per year.
The same government that is ignoring an invasion of illegal immigration and refuses to profile terrorists has no problems going after lemonade stands run by our children: Good Grief: Kids Lemonade Stand At US Open Fined $500 And Shut Down
And from an earlier post: Good Grief: GA Police Close Down A Girl Scout Cookie Stand

A similar situation cropped up in the People's Republic of California last year: Video: Police shut down 7 year old girl's lemonade stand! Hey kid - you got a permit?
And finally, Video: Reason TV announced 'Nanny of the Month' recipient for June 2011
So perhaps running a lemonade stand is not appropriate for Bachman to demand of Obama's minions since our obese over-government has become exceedingly efficient at keeping us safe from the drink made by schoolchildren and sold on their front lawns.

Shocker: Sexist Media Scrutinize Bachmann’s Migraines, Ignore Obama’s Smoking

Not to mention his drug use in the past (as far as we know anyway). During the 2008 campaign, John McCain released his full medical records as demanded by the Obama camp. Obama released a 1-page letter from his doctor that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. No release of his medical records of course. Pretty much the same liberal bias here, except that it has a sexist rather than ageist flavor to it: Sexist Media Scrutinize Bachmann’s Migraines, Ignore Obama’s Smoking
“We have a President who is turning 50 and he still is smoking. And if you’re President of the United States and you can’t kick the habit, you probably have a serious habit. That’s a serious health issue. If we’re going to do this, let’s look at everybody.” - Republican strategist Cheri Jacobus

In other words, it's going to get worse as the failure continues to get bigger, which it will.

Video of CNN host Kyra Phillips: Michele Bachmann Is “Racist” Because She Opposes Government Fraud Or Something

I've asked this question many times, but why do Democrats even need to raise one red cent in campaign contributions when they have in-kind contributions from their media buddies like this:
Via Founding Bloggers via Gateway Pundit. The USDA Pigford settlement was reparations plain and simple. Pelosi - after getting her butt handed to her in November - passed a huge settlement with black farmers that sued for racial discrimination. The problem? The settlement is to 92,000 black farmers - 5 TIMES the number of actual black farmers that existed at the time of the settlement. It's reparations plain and simple. From Gateway Pundit back in August:

Pigford v. Glickman was a class action lawsuit against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), alleging racial discrimination in its allocation of farm loans and assistance between 1983 and 1997. The lawsuit ended with a settlement in which the U.S. government agreed to pay African American farmers $50,000 each if they had attempted to get USDA help but failed. To date, almost $1 billion has been paid or credited to the farmers under the settlement’s consent decree. Democrats want to add another $1.2 billion to the money pot and continue with the reparations.
A FoxNews video from the summer:
Several updates since then:
The latest update on the sham a couple of months ago: Bachmann: Obama May Have Used Pigford to Win Black Vote From Hillary
President Barack Obama may have used the Pigford farmers case to steal the African-American vote from Hillary Clinton in the 2008 presidential election, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said Saturday on WMAL in Washington DC.

Bachmann made the connection when she spoke with Andrew Breitbart Saturday about a major cover-up in the Pigford farmers case.
And that makes her a racist? Please...

Video: Dimwitted bimbo Sarah Palin claims Abraham Lincoln Built the "Intercontinental Railroad" (No Such Thing!)

Well, that's it. Sarah Palin is unqualified to hold any office whatsoever because she gets this important part of history totally wrong. Check this out:
In an interview with WTMJ, Channel 4 Milwaukee on Feb. 16, 2011, Palin insisted that Abe Lincoln built the "intercontinental railroad" during the Civil War.

Sorry, Mrs. Governor, but Lincoln had a hand in legislation that helped built the TRANScontinental railroad, not any "intercontinental" railroad.
That's the last straw for me. I'm out. I can't support a moron.

BUT...

It wasn't Sarah Palin. The real story:
In an interview with WTMJ, Channel 4 Milwaukee on Feb. 16, 2011, Obama insisted that Abe Lincoln built the "intercontinental railroad" during the Civil War.

Sorry, Mr. President, but Lincoln had a hand in legislation that helped built the TRANScontinental railroad, not any "intercontinental" railroad.

So, where is the media to make fun of this?
Camped out in his anus if I don't miss my guess, probably worrying at this point if there isn't some form of flesh-eating bacteria that only takes effect after prolonged exposure numbering in the years. The video:
If Sarah Palin had indeed made the exact same mistake, she would have been ridiculed as a dimwitted bimbo unfit for any office. Same with Michelle Bachmann. Speaking of: Ann Coulter: Media Assumes Palin and Bachmann are Idiots
Together Palin and Bachmann have a small fraction of the amount of gaffes that Obama himself has made, none of which were big news stories and many of which the media simply spiked altogether. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. UPDATE #2: Obama Flake

Liberal Media 2011: Michele Bachmann has thin legislative résumé. 2008: Obama has no résumé but he's AOK!

Obama is the most unqualified, inexperienced President in our nations history. There is no close second. The liberal establishment media covered for him in 2008, including the fact that he had zero executive or even federal experience since he spent his entire, short US Senate career simply running for President. He even said so himself before taking his Senate seat in January 2005:
But of course, now the meme in the media is that Michele Bachmann's resume is too thin, if you can believe that. Via memeorandum, from The Politico: Michele Bachmann's thin legislative résumé
Rep. Michele Bachmann is surging in the GOP presidential polls and barnstorming Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, but as she sprints toward the front of the Republican pack, there’s a major hole in her political résumé: legislation.

Now in her third House term, Bachmann has never had a bill or resolution she’s sponsored signed into law, and she’s never wielded a committee gavel, either at the full or subcommittee level. Bachmann’s amendments and bills have rarely been considered by any committee, even with the House under GOP control. In a chamber that rewards substantive policy work and insider maneuvering, Bachmann has shunned the inside game, choosing to be more of a bomb thrower than a legislator.
And you can clearly see how Obama's non accomplishments in the Illinois House and Senate where he was known as Senator Present, and zero accomplishments in the US Senate where he didn't even do his job, are far better than anything Bachmann has done. More from Legal Insurrection, Outside the Beltway,Pirate's Cove, The Moderate Voice and JammieWearingFool . The establishment MSM is slavishly running a full-court press against Bachmann using mockery and brazenly twisting the truth:
Meanwhile, they continue to hide Obama's actual gaffes. Via memeorandum: Mainstream media covers up horrifying Obama mistake
No one in mainstream media seems inclined to mention Barack Obama’s horrifying mistake last Thursday when, speaking at Fort Drum,  he said that SFC Jared Monti was “the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.” Alas, he was mistaken. He awarded the Medal of Honor to Jared Monti posthumously in 2009 and awarded the Medal of Honor in person to SSG Sal Giunta in person in 2011. Obama later apologized for this mistake, but it’s really dismaying that a president who spoke movingly and even eloquently in awarding the Medal of Honor made a mistake of this magnitude.

“It shouldn’t take a teleprompter for the C-in-C to get it right,” writes military blogger Black Five. It’s interesting that mainstream media journalists who are so eager to zing Michele Bachmann for getting John Wayne’s birthplace wrong, have not been interested in asking whether this was a mistake Obama made in ad libbing or whether the White House speechwriters and fact-checkers fell down on the job. You might think that their chief motive is to make Obama look good and to suppress facts that make him look bad.
Actor John Wayne was raised in a nearby town from Bachmann, not in Waterloo itself. So you can see that that is far more egregious and worthy of media mockery than the commander in chief getting a dead Medal of Honor recipient's life function status wrong. More on that over at The Lonely Conservative and The Right Scoop

Obama claims that Constitution was written "20 Centuries Ago", Bachmann that John Quincy Adams was a Founding Father. Guess Which Makes Liberal Crazy

From my post more than 2 years ago, Obama claiming the US Constitution is some 2000 years old:
The media hardly took notice of that gaffe from a supposed constitutional law lecturer. But this non-gaffe is making headlines; John Quincy Adams a Founding Father? Michele Bachmann Says Yes. This from george Stephanopolis:
So which is the more egregious? My guess is that far more Americans would get the Adams question wrong than the age of the US Constitution. More from Outside the Beltway, American Power and National Review. From Mark Levin on facebook: George Stephanopolous: Flake
George Stephanopolous has revealed his own flakiness and ignorance in his effort to pile on Michele Bachmann.  No, John Quincy Adams was not a founding father.  He was John Adams' son.  So, if she makes another 1,000 misstatements, only then will she come close to the King of Misstatements, Barack Obama, or is it Joe Biden?
http://blogs.abcnews.com/george/2011/06/john-quincy-adams-a-founding-father-michele-bachmann-says-yes.html

But let me focus on the issue of slavery, which Stephanopolous jumps on.  The fact is that a number of prominent Founders did attempt to end or at least take on the issue of slavery, including Virginia's George Mason, who was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention.  The inability to end slavery was among the reasons he refused to support the Constitution.  While he was a slave-owner, he nonetheless opposed the institution going forward.  Mason was no light-weight, either.  He had authored the Virginia Declaration of Rights, which later served as the basis for James Madison's draft of the Bill of Rights.

The Constitution itself reflects some of the hard-fought compromises over slavery, resulting from the demands of anti-slavery delegates, including ending the importation of slaves on a date certain and diminishing the influence of the southern slave states in the federal House of Representatives with the three-fifth's limit respecting apportionment.

Historian Bernard Bailyn has made the important point that the Founders unleashed a process that would eventually destroy the institution of slavery by "condemning [it], confining it, and setting in motion the forces that would ultimately destroy it."

Video of Democratic Pollster: Media Likes to Make Bachmann Out to Be an Idiot

This from former Dem pollster Pat Cadell:
When it comes to double standards, Caddell said that if Barack Obama were to say there were 57 states, not many would pay heed. But the same can't be said for Bachmann.

"If you're her, or Sarah Palin, or someone [the media] doesn't like, any mistake you make is blown up."

Caddell also commented on the need for presidential candidates to push back against the mainstream media when it comes to being the pawn in a game of "gotchya!"
The segment:
And from a prior post: Sarah Palin makes small mistake about North Korea. Sheila Jackson Lee thinks there are 2 Vietnams. Guess which one makes the news? Palin called out Obama regrading that made-up controversy:
