This must be the season of divorce! It seems that chanteuse Chante Moore and crooner Kenny Lattimore have got bitten by the 'Divorce Demon'. Moore took to her Facebook page recently to confirm the news that her marriage to Lattimore of 9 years has come to an end.
There are moments that change your life forever. I’ve NEVER been one to share the details of my personal life in the media. This moment will be an exception," Moore writes. "I would much rather my fans hear this sensitive information directly from me, than some random inaccurate media source. My Ex-husband Kenny Lattimore and I are Divorced. We both will continue to be devoted parents to our son. Keep us all in your prayers!"
This comes as s huge surprise to her fans, because the couple always seemed so happy in public. But then again, we never know what happens behind closed doors. Hopefully is was an amicable split because I've met both and they are very grounded approachable people with good spirits! Let's keep them in our minds as they go through their private split.

Sources are saying that troubled singer Amy Winehouse has beeen found dead?? According to TMZ, Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London today!?
A press release from the Metropolitan Police, which doesn't specifically name Winehouse, says:
"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased.
On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."
The group formed in New York in 1993, when Amel Larrieux met Bryce Wilson while she was working at Rondor Music as a receptionist. Larrieux had been working at the music publishing company since the age of 18. A publisher at the company had signed Wilson as a producer, and knew he was interested in forming a group. He approached Larrieux, who he knew was a singer-songwriter, with one of Wilson's production tracks, saying "look, you wanna try writing a song? You know I can give you one of the tracks, and you can do it, and if you don’t mind, you can demo it.” Wilson hoped to use the group as a chance to utilize his production talents, while Larrieux wanted a chance to shine in R&B. Wilson also found it useful for Larrieux to both write, sing, and arrange each song instead of shopping around for different singers and songwriters.

Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes was truly an innovative soul. After a public dispute with her fellow bandmates, T-Boz & Chilli, Lopes was determined to release her solo album 'Supernova'. The 1st single was 'Block Party', which charted high in the U.K. but failed to make much buzz in the states. The 2001 disc never saw the light of day in the United States. I have a digital copy of 'Supernova' and it would have been a great disc for Lopes' solo career had it been released. Arista chose not to after 'Block Party' wasn't a success right out the gate. However, let us remember Lopes and 'Vibe from THE VAULT' with a look back at 'Block Party' from 2001!

People Magazinerevealed recently that Missy Elliott had been battling with Graves’ Disease, an autoimmune disease that leads to overactivity of the thyroid. Rumors began swirling around that the innovative artist was ill and that the disease has strickened her and her fans and people that were not 'in the know' began to worry about the star. 'Is she okay?', 'Will this disease stop the music?', 'Where is Missy?' The artists addressed the rumors:

I thank TVone's series 'Unsung' for shedding light on artists that have for whatever reason, have not gotten the appropriate shine they deserved. Case in point, who knew Alexander O'Neal was such a prolific star in his time? I never knew that Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis brought Alexander O'Neal in on a group they were forming that would eventually evolve into 'The Time'! Did you know that? But O'Neal was ousted from the group quickly because he and Prince did not see eye to eye about the finances. So before it even got off the ground, O'Neal was out of the group! Back in the 90's 3-member girl groups were all over the place! 702, named after the area code for Las Vegas, where they are from was one of the hottest acts out, with hits like 'Steelo', and 'Where My girls at'. The group briefly disbanded, then reunited and disbanded again for good in 2009. We can't bring the girls back together, but we can go back to a time when they were. I just did a post about skin color bias in African American women. In the post, these brave women spoke about how their dark skin was a constant source of ridicule and shame by people in society. There was even a child who was asked to look at two pictures, one of a light-skinned child and one of a dark-skinned child. That same little girl was asked of the two which was considered 'ugly' and the child pointed at the picture of the dark-skinned child. Society has made us think that light is right and dark is wrong. Case in point, controversial Jamaican rapper Vybz Kartel must subscribe to this same mantra. Kartel, who was once a dark-skinned male has taken to bleaching his skin to become lighter. Apparently, Kartel must have not been too happy with his appearance to go to such lengths to become lighter.
WTF? What magical stuff is he using to get THAT LIGHT?
Just recently, Rolling Stone Magazine interviewed Vybz Kartel and the question came up about his skin bleaching. This is what he had to say: Speaking of, are you tired of being asked about your appearance – about skin bleaching, especially?
It's played out – come with something different, man. OK, how's this: You've said that a black man bleaching his skin is no different from women getting weaves and hair extensions. Do you still think so?
