Kings of Leon Cancel Their U.S. Tour Due to "Internal Sicknesses & Problems"

The Kings of Leon are having some issues -- enough to cancel their entire U.S. tour. While the band won't reveal the specifics of what bassist Jared Followill tweeted was their "internal sicknesses & problems," it seems that they came to light during the Grammy-winning rockers' disastrous concert on Friday in Dallas.

According to People, Kings of Leon frontman (and Jared's brother) Caleb Followill, 29, started to act strangely about four songs into the Dallas show. At first, he told the crowd he was losing his voice, asking them to "help me sing." Then he began to complain he was feeling sick. After around 50 minutes, he informed the audience of his plans to "go backstage for a second and I'm gonna vomit."

"I'm gonna drink a beer," Caleb continued, "and I'm gonna come back out and I'm gonna play three more songs."

Sure enough, that not-so-awesome-sounding plan failed, and Caleb didn't return to the stage. Jared and guitarist (and cousin) Matthew Followill stepped up to the mic to apologize profusely, explaining that "Caleb's just a little unfit to play the rest of the show."

Later on Twitter, band members addressed the incident with fans.

"Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am," tweeted Jared on Friday night. "There are some internal sicknesses and problems that have needed to be addressed."

Caleb got onto Twitter the next day, saying, "So sorry Dallas... the heat got the best of me but we will be back if you want us."

But Caleb's brother Jared had a few more things to say.

"I love our fans so much," he added on Saturday. "I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."

On Monday afternoon, the band sent out a statement canceling the remainder of the U.S. tour, with plans to resume in Canada at the end of September. Jared Followill has continued to send updates via Twitter, and he doesn't sound happy about this turn of events.

"Utterly depressed," he tweeted on Monday afternoon. "It's completely out of my hands. Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I'd be there... Thanks to all my friends, family, & fans. I'm not going to stop working. I'm going to spend time writing songs and looking to the future."

On a more hopeful note, Jared has been reassuring fans that the band is just taking a time-out. "Don't jump to conclusions,  guys," Jared tweeted on Monday. "We're not breaking up."

Hopefully, whatever issues are plaguing the group will be resolved. And at least their priorities as a family sound like they're in the right place
