Last week rapper Soulaja Boy was poised to purchase a 55 million dollar G5 Jet. Earlier this week, TMZ spoke with Soulja Boy, a member of his management team named Shai Storm and Soulja's assistant -- who all verified Soulja Boy had put the cash down on the private jet as a 21st birthday gift to himself.
When asked about the jet while doing an interview with a Miami radio station, the rapper replied coyly to the DJ that he was "G5 status", but did not say that the rumors were false about his purchase of the jet.
Now, Soulja's "spokesperson" Greg Miller has issued a statement on behalf of the rapper ... saying the "elaborate rumors" are "not true."
"The elaborate rumors circulating about Soulja Boy purchasing a jet for his 21st birthday are grossly over exaggerated and are not true," spokesman Greg Miller said in a statement. One source told Reuters that the rapper, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, recently used someone's private jet but had no plans to pick up one of his own.
So it seems that DeAndre has cried wolf on this. I guess Soulja Boy's 'tall tale' can now be likened to Balloon Boy's saga. But DeAndre's fanciful flight on this fairy-tale jet, never came to pass...
