More Ryan here: Paul Ryan on WH's Disappointing Lack of Leadership & Fiscal Sanity
"...The President's proposing we spend $46 trillion over the next ten years. With the debt limit increase, we're saying 'let's spend 43 and a half.' That's not asking a lot over a 10 year period. And it will be a small down payment on what will be necessary to prevent a debt crisis. And the President won't even do that." - Paul RyanSo we have a great divide between the tax and spend Democrats and the GOP. Boehner on that divide:
Plus, from yet another Republican: Sen. Toomey: "We're Living On Borrowed Time Fiscally"
"We are living on borrowed time, fiscally. We are in a worse position than the mid-90s. We have seen how this plays out in Europe. We are not that far behind. That's why, I think, this is our moment to do something serious. One of the problems I fault Republicans for is not having articulated the cirumstances under which we are willing to raise the debt limit. We have said: 'Mr. President, we'll give you the full debt limit increase you have asked for if you agree to put us on a path to a balanced budget.' I don't think it's unreasonable," Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) said on "Morning Joe."
