Throwback Thursday: The Sylvers vs The Jacksons

Again, I thank TVOne for their brilliant introspections on past R&B/Pop/soul music should be ICONS.  Their series 'Unsung' is one of the best of its kind on television. Each episode, I learn something about a past music legend that I never knew before.  These stories are stories that definitely need to be told.  Recently I saw a special centered around another musical family from the 70's--The Sylvers.  That's right, there was another chart topping FAMILY group that rivaled The Jackson's.

The Sylvers were a popular R&B/soul and disco family group during the 1970s. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, the family would later relocate to Watts, California.
Prior to becoming "The Sylvers", the four eldest members (Olympia, Leon, Charmaine, and James) recorded as the Little Angels, appearing on variety shows such as Make Room For Daddy and You Bet Your Life, and opening for such acts as Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles.
The group which at one point totaled 9 members charted with major hits like 'Boogie Fever','Misdemeanor',
"Hot Line" (#5 on Billboard Hot 100) as well as “High School Dance” (#17 on Billboard Hot 100).
