Park officials at Yosemite National Park said search-and-rescue crews are continuing their search for three people feared dead after witnesses said they fell from Vernal Fall on Tuesday afternoon.
...According KSEE in Fresno, witnesses say a man and a woman climbed over the safety rail at the top of the falls so that they could put their feet in the water. The couple then reportedly tried to get others to join them, but before they got there the couple began to slip. KSEE is reporting a third man jumped the railing to try and help, but all three went over the edge.
...The drop is 317 feet at the waterfall's edge....Witnesses report that several people urged the group to stay back from the river, since it was flowing swiftly. The area has signs posted listing it as a danger area.
